Update -- Dec 2009 -- St. Pete Times "Royal Lipizzaner Stallions Winter Training."   ---"Visitors are welcome to watch the beauty and grace of the original Lipizzaner Stallions of Austria as they go through their paces in their winter training home 20AM Saturday.  Admission is free but donations are appreciated.  Reservations are required for groups of 15 or more (941) 322-1501."

On Feb. 5, 2004, my husband and I brought our 5 yr. old grandson to visit Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria in Myakka City, FL.  From January - May 5 visitors are welcome to view the winter training sessions.  See the most rare and aristocratic horses in the world. The highly schooled animals exhibit complex maneuvers, leaps and plunges derived from defensive horsemanship created for war that pre-date the birth of Christ by some 400 years. These famous horses are trained at Colonel Herrman's Ranch in Manatee County. This is a wonderful family activity and a chance to learn the history of the beautiful and graceful Lipizzan Stallions.   These are a few of my photos!  Enjoy!
