A standard four page web site usually consists of a home page, a 'contact us'' page with text information and two other pages of your choosing. There are many variations with adding photos, graphics and scanned documents so this must be determined on an individual basis.   Creating PDF files and interactive forms using PDF file format is available.

    Church Websites
A standard four page web site will range in price from $400-500.  Pricing depends on what a client provides and optional extra features. Some clients have all the images ready for print and don't need image work, some may have a website design already.  These clients would require less time than a client without material.  A website is determined by what YOU want. Remember, many sites only need yearly updates so the cost is minimal for advertising in this medium. Extra features are always available! I support non-profit organizations by offering a discount on my services.

Please keep in mind that the price is reflective of the initial block of time in designing the logo/main graphic of the site, which is followed the formatting of the site, the navigation setup, the graphic & site layout.  This is the largest block of time, and, I believe, art work.   I take pride in each site, being a bit of a perfectionist in the smallest of detail.  However, this attention to detail and creativity, are reflected in my work and your unique web site. This is the very 'basis' of a site.  If this is done poorly, then future updates, pages, etc...may lead to a non-working, unprofessional website.

This is what is included in EVERY website:

  1. A master website document which will include all the information for the website, domain registrar, and host server.  The information will include passwords and any scripts installed (password or other type info needed for script changes).

  2. Every client will receive a full backup of the site when completed burned onto a CD.  This includes images, custom graphics and any additional information that I may have received.

  3. If I create brochures, business cards or other documents, they will be included on the CD.

  4. Meta tags will be included on each page to be 'search engine' friendly.

  5. Sites will include CSS (cascading style sheets) for quick site changes in formatting.

  6. Sites will include SSI (server side includes) for other portions of web pages that are repeated in the site - i.e. the head logo, links, navigation, footer.  This allows for future updates in a minimal amount of time.

  7. Site will be uploaded to the server.  POP3 email will be set up on the server (most servers include 5-100 POP3 accounts).

  8. All email addresses on the web pages throughout the site will be encrypted with anti-spam coding or through the use of images for email links.

  9. All graphics on the site will be optimized for quality, file size balanced with image size.  Visitors with slow internet connections will not wait for graphics.

  10. The web site will be designed for either 1024x768 or 800x600 screen resolution.  While larger screen sizes are becoming increasingly popular as monitors are replaced & prices decrease, viewers find reading text that expands 1920x1024 too tiring on the eyes.  Sites may be designed in percentages (100% or 80%, etc...) but the site will look significantly different for each screen size with some results being rather surprising (not in a good way!).  However, if you wish a larger or small size, I will be able to accommodate those wishes.

  11. Every page will be checked in several browsers to ensure a site that looks good and works well for visitors.  Site will be checked using Internet Explorer (the most popular browser with an 84% market share), FireFox (9-14% market share) and Opera (2%).  I use a Windows based computer (Windows 7) which has a 93% market share.  MAC users presently have a 3% market share. (stats from June 2006)

    Domain Name Registration:
I will assist you in registering a domain name and obtaining the hosting services that best fits your needs. The domain name will be registered in your business/personal name so you have sole control over your name.

Hosting:
I recommend several reliable companies for hosting.   This hosting/server cost is not priced into the design work. (The cost will be added to the web design invoice with no markups!.) I will take care of setting up accounts and publishing websites to those servers. The password can be determined by the client. All usernames and passwords set up for clients are kept in strict confidence. Hosting prices vary according to features and space required on the servers to host the site. Small websites may be obtained for about $75 per year!

Maintenance:
Many sites require no additional updates. Once the site is done, there are no other costs but renewing your  server contract or domain name on a yearly basis (domain names can be purchased for 9 years at a time).  However, many sites require monthly maintenance at $40 per hour, minimum charge is 1/2 hour.

Tutoring:
I can provide private or a small group (ministry or church staff) web tutoring to teach how to update and develop web pages using FrontPage and advise you various methods to update the site in various cost-effective manners.

There are many variables in the final cost involved, including how comprehensive a design you will require, whether or not you require original logo development, already have artwork, graphics, a logo, or a copy. These prices are general and do not indicate a contractual obligation. Prices may be subject to change. Please contact me for further information about how I can best help you, your organization or business.
